Take a look at the team in action…

Four years ago, the rangers of Mount Kenya Horse Patrol Team had barely seen a horse, let alone ridden one. They now look after 10 hardy Ethiopian ponies for their mountain patrols.

Take a look at their daily routine on the short video below.

The trust has trained me how to ride and take care of the horses – something I have learnt to love and be passionate about. Pius Muniria

Ever since I joined the trust I have gained experience on conservation and I am more informed on climate change and adaptation, animal safety and rescue, data collection on activities happening in the forest reserve. Martin Murugu

Each member of the team is assigned two horses. The team is very disciplined and work in harmony. Gelvas Limberia

With thanks to Cecilia Garcia & Rosie Woodcock for the film.
