Patrols have been currently focussed on an approx. 80km2 region in the northern region above Marania farm including the fire and watch tower, Embori, School of Adventure, Mlima Ngaita, Solo camp, Marania forest and river. The team also monitors elephants moving in and out of the park through the Elephant Corridor on the North West boundary. This provides a safe passage for elephants moving from the Mt Kenya National Park north and west to the Ngare Ndare forest, Lewa Conservency, Borana and beyond. It is the only elephant corridor in Kenya and has been highly successful in reducing elephant-human conflict. The historical 14km corridor has relinked the Samburu and Laikipia populations and allowed elephant migration to once again move freely.
